About the Event
Nicholas Gazin oversees the production of a zine in which each participant receives an optional quick portfolio review and an assignment for their one page contribution to a zine. In the span of a just three hours we will go from conception to final product. The point of this workshop is to help remind you that you should be exactly who you want to be and do what you want to do. You are the only you and this workshop is about exploring that with a communally produced zine.
Nicholas Gazin is an artist who was born on July 29th, 1983 in New York City. He uses watercolors, colored pencil, acrylic and ink to produce drawings and paintings that are heavily influenced by comics, advertising, movie posters, psychedelia, memories and things that scared him as a child.
He’s been writing, illustrating, hosting video content, and curating the comics and illustrations for Vice in varying capacities since 2006. His current title at Vice is art editor. Through promotion of rock shows and DJing he became involved with various New York music scenes, drawing pictures that were used for flyers, posters, T-shirts and album covers.
