The current state of the Colombian Peace Process

Andrés Ucrós Maldonado is Director of Peace Building in the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota. He was part of the Colombian Government Delegation in the Havana Peace Talks with FARC and working on transitional justice and international law. From 2007 to 2009 he was an advisor for the Government Reintegration of ex combatants Program. A former Chevening Scholar, he earned his LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Dr Annette Idler is Director of Studies at the Changing Character of War Programme and a Senior Research Fellow at Pembroke College and at the Department of Politics and International Relations of the University of Oxford. She holds a doctorate from the Department of International Development and St. Antony’s College, Oxford and has been conducting extensive fieldwork in the borderlands of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, analysing the relationships among rebels, criminals and paramilitary groups and exploring their impact on citizen security.

Rt Hon Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP is Chief Whip of the Democratic Unionist Party in the House of Commons and has been heavily involved at a senior level in Northern Ireland politics for many years. He travels extensively to areas of conflict around the world to offer consultancy and advice and has made the Colombian Peace Process a particular area of interest having been involved in substantive talks with FARC and the Colombian Government. He is Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Colombia.
