Darren Hill & The Poison Oaks
Darren Hill & The Poison Oaks are a three piece Folk/Alternative outfit based in Belfast. The band started as a development of Darren Hill’s solo project which began in June 2014. To date, Darren has shared the stage with acts such as American Folk Singer-Songwriter Chuck Ragan, Henry Cluney (Ex-Stiff Little Fingers) and Rob Lynch. Darren’s Debut EP “Western Sunrise” was released in February 2015 and consists of tried and true folk riffs keeping time with guitar and drum, and tender lyrics that will abruptly take a turn into an amped up bridge (Noel Ellis-gigging NI).
This is the release gig for Darren’s’ second EP “Hand of A Wolf” which branches out slightly from the folk style of Western Sunrise by taking influence from artists of other genres. Influences come from artists such as Frank Turner, Dashboard Confessional, Conor Oberst, Joshua Burnside and Bruce Springsteen.
Treehome are a Trio from Belfast, formed in 2013, whose writing infuses elements of Soul, Funk, Jazz and Rock with catchy melodies, tasty riffs and pop sensibilities. They are the winners of Music Skills NI and were Jägermeister Battle of the Bands finalists in 2014. The trio are set to release their debut EP on 15th August 2015.
Goodbye Nola are a Belfast based Post-Punk/Rock outfit which formed in 2013. They are brought to the listener’s ears through a love of music which is fast, slow, soulful, manic and everything in between. Their debut three track EP can be heard on their soundcloud.
One half of the melodic hardcore outfit Towers, Daniel (Guitar/Vocals) and Matthew (Cajon) will be playing a few covers, originals and acoustic rendition's of Towers songs. An exciting act to look out for!
