About the Event

Peter Barber Architects are an award-winning architecture and urban design practice working on a number of ground-breaking urban social housing projects.  At the heart of all PBA's work is the belief that architecture can create the potential for social action and activity.  Peter Barber Architects won the Royal Academy Grand Award for Architecture in 2015 and have twice been UK Housing Architect of the year.

In this lecture, Associate Director Alice Brownfield will discuss the practice's approach to urbanism and housing with reference to award winning built schemes and a number of theoretical projects including "100 Mile City": a radical reimagining of London's periphery designed to re-densify suburbia with a street based, linear city a hundred miles long, 200 metres wide and 4 storeys high wrapped around London.
