Dee O'Leary

Dee O’Leary, educated at Cork Institute of Technology in Mathematics & Computing, has over 20 years’ experience working in the Sales and Recruitment industry and is the founder of iDme specializing in the manufacturing of Sports and Medical ID wristbands for children and adults based on her own experience as a mum of a child that was prone to wandering.


Possessing a strong passion for sales, being highly motivated and enthusiastic Dee has been able to take her idea for iDME from initial conception through to market by making appropriate decisions, and maintaining a strong focus on the creation of new business and ensuring its development with sales now worldwide for her iDME wristbands.

Dee is incredibly driven appearing on national television, RTE’s Dragons Den, pitching to investors while 9 months pregnant, going into labor only hours later and delivering her baby the following morning. Dee has been successful in being selected to attend the PINC programme in 2013 at the Rubicon Centre, CIT Cork for Female Entrepreneurs where she won 'Best Business Opportunity' with iDME at the final showcase and most recently completed the Enterprise Ireland funded Phase II of the New Frontiers Programme . At the Irish Maternity & Infant Awards 2013 Dee was awarded the title of ‘Business Parent of the Year’ and iDME wristbands were finalists in the ‘Best Safety Product’ and ‘Best Travel Gadget’ categories for 2014. She has been awarded the extremely prestigious Cork Innovates Bursary Fund 2013 and credits the win with the continued success of her business.


Recipient of the 'Internet of Things' 2014 research grant from the Nimbus Research Centre, who specialize in embedded technology and is the winner of the Cork Foundation 'US Business Development Award' which will saw Dee travel to the US December 2014 to meet with industry leaders and develop her business with the help of their expertise. Most recently iDME has been nominated as the ‘Best Emerging Business’ in the Cork Company of the Year Awards 2015 and has also been nominated for the ‘MSL Cork Business Person of the Year’ 2014. Up next for Dee will be exhibiting at the Web Summit in Dublin this November to showcase the next generation iDME wristband; a smart tech wearable safety device.

Ruth Chapman - 'Managing wellness in the midst of running a business'.

As a Medical Herbalist, Ruth helps women to achieve full health and vitality at every stage of life. She works on the outskirts of Wexford Town, providing a personalised holistic health care plan for her patients, bringing a positive and lasting change to their lives. Ruth also runs workshops on herbal remedies and conducts herb walks. She has completed a four year full time degree in Herbal Medicine and is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists.

Check in/registration is at 9.00am and the event will end with sambos and tea and coffee at 1pm
