“Ads, Trackers, Blockers, Super-Cookies, Private Modes and other Ghastly Beasts (extended dance remix)”, by Dan Appelquist @torgo
After spectacularly failing to deliver this talk in lightning format at the last LWS event, Dan will be back to talk about the rise of privacy enabling technologies on the web. What does the rise of tracker network blockers and ad blockers mean for web sites?
Dan Appelquist is an independent consultant and Open Web Advocate, currently splitting his time between projects for the UK Government Digital Service, the Open Data Institute and the Samsung browser team. He is co-chair of the W3C's Technical Architecture Group, co-founder of the Over the Air hack day. He tweets at @torgo.
Lightning Talk - Web Components explained by Francesco Iovine, @franciov
Web components are an old concept and soon a new standard for the Open Web Platform. The W3C specifications are still evolving, but there are many libraries and toolkits around, even if designing a high-quality component is still hard to achieve.
