TEDWomen takes place October 26-28, 2016, in San Francisco.
Our event is called TEDxStormont Women and is one of many TEDx events happening around the globe that will expand on the ideas brought up at TEDWomen. It will take place on Thursday, 27 October from 6pm to 9pm at Parliament Buildings, Stormont.
Because this year, we’ll be
talking about time. Is there anyone among us who doesn’t wrestle with it? On
the one hand, what we want never seems to arrive promptly enough — gender
parity in our boardrooms and bedrooms, class and racial equality, even love. On
the other hand, time seems to move faster than it ever has. We have a love/hate
relationship with our mobile phones, dream of a 4-hour work week, and bemoan
the timesuck of outdated bureaucracies.
This year, the speakers and attendees of TEDWomen and TEDxStormontWomen will be examining the question of time — in the wider world, in our own lives — by looking across science and tech, art and music, business and social justice. We’ll explore how time and attention shape our lives, from practical talks on work/life balance, to mind-expanding talks on how to think about time itself.
Speakers will be announced soon!
